Full time / Part time possible

Your financial control, planning and exceptional numerical proficiency as a Finance Specialist UK will aid DEFEND INSURANCE in maintaining positive revenue and financial growth, formulating sound financial strategies, implementing internal controls, achieving organizational targets, and developing financial plans that support the finance and wider organizational strategies.
You will lead financial and management reporting for the department, transaction processing, audit, finance projects and systems development (iFinance).


Phase 1

  • Establish finance function in the UK department
  • Managing of implementation of finance processes within the UK department
  • Implement and formalize a process on financial timelines including client payments (dealer invoices, BDX production, commission statements)
  • Review existing finance, accounting and reporting practices for GardX
  • Management of the UK bank accounts
  • Ensure relevant staff within the UK department are producing relevant financial documents on time and accurately
  • Sign-off on disbursement schemes for new dealer set-ups
  • Owner of regular UK reports such as Scheme-stats and daily registrations report
  • Creation of a KPI report/dashboard to be provided to Country Manager on monthly basis
  • Collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders to understand the financial functionalities within iDEFEND V2 and ensure successful transition of all UK dealers from iDEFEND UK to iDEFEND V2 from a financial perspective
  • Ensure all procedures are formalized and written as per the procedure requirements of the department

Phase 2

  • Owner of iFinance tool (GardX and DEFEND)
  • Work with developers and other stakeholders within the business to understand the full functionality of the tool and how it interacts with iGard/iDEFEND
  • Fix any errors within the General Ledger of iFinance (both for GardX and DEFEND)
  • Maintain the chart of accounts in the General Ledger of iFinance including manuals and process maps for key accounting functions to ensure they are up-to-date


  • Economic education is an advantage (High school, University)
  • At least 3 years of experience on similar position
  • Good knowledge of finance and accounting processes
  • Knowledge of insurance business is advantage
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Analytical thinking, consistency, organizational skills
  • Flexibility, focus on details
  • Desire to learn new things
  • Excellent English is a must
