Starting March 2024, DEFEND is rolling out new terms and conditions for its DIAMOND, e-DIAMOND, CRYSTAL, and ADVANTAGE warranty programmes across the Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian markets, as well as in the Baltic States.

DEFEND continues to grow. Thanks to technological developments in previous years, we have been able to expand rapidly into other markets, entering Romania, Latvia, and Austria in 2023. This year, we are planning to expand to Estonia and Bulgaria.

DIG, the Central European market leader in specialty car insurance, is opening an office in Bucharest, Romania. In total, the international group is already present in 8 European markets. As of today, DIG offers its DEFEND Car Protect extended warranties in Romania.

DIG did well in terms of business results in 2022 and we again achieved year-on-year growth. We have been able to do this thanks to continued technological innovation and the automation. 2023 will not be easy, however, I believe that we are ready for any situation.

The claims handling process for DEFEND insurance which is underwritten by Fortegra Europe has been further streamlined. Clients can now use Fortegra service network, which consists of nearly 100 service stations.

As well as technical inspections, emissions measurements are increasingly more stringent. They are becoming a more and more stressful obligation, especially for owners of older vehicles. Thankfully, it is now possible to arrange insurance for both.

The Hungarian branch of DIG has partnered up with the network of car service centres, Q-Service. Their customers now have the opportunity to purchase DEFEND extended warranties during regular servicing, vehicle repairs or even technical inspections.

Popularity of new and used electric cars is growing. However, one of the problems with electric cars is their insurance, but Czech customers can now arrange additional insurance, such as extended warranties or GAP insurance for their electric vehicle.

DEFEND is entering the German market. This is the 8th country in which the Central European market leader is active. In Germany, DIG is offering its extended warranties for used cars through its strategic partner Driverama.

With the DIAMOND and CRYSTAL warranty programs, for vehicles that are still under manufacturer's warranty, it is now possible to extend the warranty for vehicles with up to 6 years of factory warranty and increase mileage for vehicles with 7-year factory warranty.

DEFEND INSURANCE GROUP introduces a new corporate identity, which marks the start of a new era for us. The changes, which are inspired by our acquisition by Fortegra and our mutual aim for Pan-European growth, are planned to be completed by mid-2020.

DEFEND INSURANCE GROUP closed a very successful third quarter, which was also our first period with Fortegra by our side. We registered 49,000 policies, a total GWP value of € 22.5 million making it a growth of 21.6 % compared to the same period last year.

DIG today announces a new partnership with Fortegra Financial Corporation. Effective 1 July, Fortegra acquired a majority stake in Ingenasys, Ltd., the parent holding company of DIG to help further strengthen DEFEND’s insurance market position.    

DIG is pleased to confirm that from 1 July more partners from its extensive network will offer DEFEND Technical Control STK insurance. After successfully completing an initial testing period, this product will now be available to even more customers in the Czech Republic.

At the end of the first quarter of 2019 the companies of HAVEX-auto and DEFEND INSURANCE announced the beginning of their collaboration. As a result, DEFEND will provide HAVEX branded extended warranties, HAVEX Car Protect and HAVEX Gap insurance.

DEFEND INSURANCE GROUP has closed the first quarter of 2019 with a great success. Thanks to our branches, we have reached € 20.6 million in gross written premium, registered a record 43,400 insurance policies, which resulted in 27% growth.

On 15th January 2019, DEFEND INSURANCE officially launched its partnership with Lloyd’s Insurance Company S.A. (Lloyd’s Brussels). The newly established company is fully operational, authorised and regulated by the National Bank of Belgium.

The results of DIG for 2018 confirm the significant growth of the whole group and its stable position as one of the leading providers of supplementary car insurance. Year-on-year the newly registeredinsurance contracts increased by 31 %.

The business results of DEFEND INSURANCE GROUP in the third quarter exceeded our expectations. We managed to surpass 40,300 concluded insurance contracts, which is a 31% increase compared to the same period last year.

DIG in the second quarter of 2018, has been successful in fulfilling its long-term strategy for developing the company and strengthening its position on the car insurance market in Central and Eastern Europe.

On May 14, 2018 the Slovak branch of DIG became a member of AFISP, the Association of Financial Intermediaries and Financial Advisers, an organization with the ambition to represent the professional interests of financial intermediaries and financial advisors.

The first quarter of 2018 was very positive for DIG, we achieved sales and profit growth with more than 23 000 contracts concluded, the equivalent of an increase of 27% compared with the previous year. All this contributed to the best performance in group’s history.
